The Colleges of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS) at Qatar University represent a landmark academic development within Qatar University’s Health Campus, integrating medicine, pharmacy, and health sciences into a unified educational and research environment. The project showcases a high-performance architectural façade system engineered with advanced fibre cement flat sheets, delivering a balance of durability, sustainability, and contemporary design excellence.
At the core of the building envelope is EQUITONE Tectiva fibre cement panels, a through-coloured façade material selected for its refined aesthetics and technical reliability. The panels feature a distinctive white textured surface with subtle tonal variations and fine sanding lines, creating a natural, stone-like architectural expression that enhances the visual depth and identity of the campus.
Manufactured from 100% non-asbestos fibre cement, the façade boards ensure long-term structural integrity while meeting modern safety and environmental standards. The material is treated with advanced hydrophobation technology, providing superior resistance against moisture ingress, weathering, and environmental exposure—making it ideal for Qatar’s demanding climatic conditions.
Designed with performance-driven architecture in mind, the façade system achieves high fire safety compliance with EN 13501 Class A rating, ensuring maximum protection for educational and healthcare facilities. The ventilated façade approach further improves thermal efficiency, supporting sustainable building performance and reduced energy consumption.
